DeAndre Jordan had 14 points and 17 rebounds for the Clippers.

This has been brewing over the past few years, as it seems Manning has made the conscious decision to avoid getting hit at all costs. Maybe it was a general business decision, sage advice passed down from Big Bro Peyton as a way for an immobile man to extend a career. Or maybe Eli just lost faith in his physical ability to avoid pressure or hang in the pocket and absorb a blow. Either way, the result has been multiple instances per game in which he hurls the ball into the ground, or curls up into the fetal position as pass rushers approach.

DeAndre Jordan had 14 points and 17 rebounds for the Clippers. Their backups outscored Toronto’s reserves 50-17, led by Harrell and Lou Williams, who also had 17 points.

“Our second group tries to bring a lot of energy and play as hard as we can,” Harrell said. “We know we’re going to make some mistakes, we know we have some younger guys who aren’t accustomed to playing this amount of minutes. Everyone has that next man up mentality.”

Buffalo had a good game plan in place and the team’s only touchdown of the game was a result of rolling Taylor to his left before hitting rookie receiver Zay Jones in the end zone.

“No, there isn’t anything I would do differently,” Jeter said after the trade became official on Monday.

During a half-hour conference call, Jeter tried to explain his thinking for trading Stanton, who controlled the process because he is owed $295 million over the next 10 years and could veto any trade. Jeter said Stanton made it clear that he did not want to be part of rebuild, so it was best for the organization to move on.panthers_030

The Saints are the big surprise in the lead entering Week 11.

The run defense numbers still look bad, but that’s because of major damage done earlier in the season, mostly from the games against the Titans, Jets and Rams. Things have dramatically changed with the simple acquisition of tackle Marcell Dareus in a trade with Buffalo. Jacksonville gave up 139 yards per game rushing on average before he arrived for Week 9. Since then, it’s been 116 total allowed in two games.

Dareus provided a big boost and more refreshment to the interior rotation to play better off ends Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue. The depth is improved, providing more help for the second level to clean up. Going position-by-position, it’s now hard to find a real hole in Jacksonvile’s defense.

Even now, he says his longtime preference for Nike on the court also went into his decision to pick Kentucky over rival Louisville. Fox signed with Nike this spring, becoming the first rookie to finalize a traditional deal. According to industry sources, Fox’s deal is for five years, worth roughly $2 million per year.

They’re the hottest team in the league but are up only a half-game on the Panthers thanks to their win in Carolina in Week 3. The Falcons, still far from hungover as the reigning NFC champions, are only two games behind.

The three South rivals all enjoyed blowout wins against other playoff contenders in Week 10, with an average margin of victory of 27 points. That sets up for an epic finish to the division race, even with New Orleans sitting pretty. Neither Carolina nor Atlanta, the previous two division champs who went all the way to the Super Bowl, can be ruled out.

However, despite the previous bluster between the two players — or more accurately between Fox and Ball’s father — Fox has chosen to downplay any comparisons between his traditional role at Nike and Ball’s unique route, signing with a family brand where his 16-year-old brother already has a signature shoe.nike_steelers_2237

This season he primarily has worn a combination of the two most recent Kobe AD models

The 13 players keep their bonuses from the Braves, must obtain new representatives and will be free to negotiate as free agents with other teams from Dec. 5 through Jan. 15.

Derrius Guice, RB, LSU — Guice ran for 147 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries as LSU rolled to a 33-10 win over Arkansas. The 5-11, 212-pound junior is on the cusp of eclipsing 1,000 yards for the second straight year and will likely follow former LSU running back Leonard Fournette to the NFL next spring.

Josh Jackson, CB, Iowa — Jackson might be the top cornerback in the draft and is the front-runner for the Jim Thorpe Award. The 6-1, 192-pound junior was the only reason the Hawkeyes scored in the blowout loss in Madison. Jackson had a pair of pick-sixes to account for both of Iowa’s touchdowns and added a forced fumble. He now has a nation-leading seven interceptions, five of which have come in the last two weeks.

It’s a stark difference from this point of the season two years ago, when the NFC fielded only five clubs above .500 while the AFC had six. Add the total of seven winning AFC teams through Week 10 last year, and the conference overall is experiencing its worst three-year stretch since the NFL adopted an eight-division format in 2002.

Now in Sacramento — one of four NBA teams with purple in their color palette — Fox plans to wear several models of Bryant’s signature Nike line, which frequently were made available in the Lakers’ particular shade of purple. This season he primarily has worn a combination of the two most recent Kobe AD models, but his brother is already hunting down rare older Kobe colorways in Kings hues, as Fox is looking to once again turn heads with his footwear.nike_steelers_2107

The weather conditions, specifically heavy winds

The Lions are probably looking at a 9-7 season, but that might not be enough to get them into the postseason. Detroit lost to playoff contenders Atlanta, Carolina and New Orleans and won’t play another NFC contender outside of the division again this season. The Lions would still have to overtake the Falcons (4-4), Redskins (4-4), Cardinals (4-4), Seahawks (5-3) and Cowboys (5-3) just to get the sixth seed.

So while Florida State cruised to a 77-6 win, the game was determined as a “no contest” in the betting world since games aren’t official until 55 minutes are played. It wasn’t a loss for those who laid the 52 points, but it wasn’t a win either. Now at 0-9-1 ATS this season, the Seminoles are in danger of becoming just the second FBS team in 25 seasons to go winless against the number.

But if the Titans really want to vie for the division, they’ll need Marcus Mariota to take over more games. The QB has a good Pro Football Focus grade despite not putting up big numbers, ranking No. 8 at the position to match his jersey number. With rookie first-rounder Corey Davis back at wideout, Mariota is up to a full complement of receivers. Coach Mike Mularkey also has been committed to letting Mariota take off and run more often to spark the offense.

The weather conditions, specifically heavy winds, contributed to this game’s low over/under of 42. It certainly looked like those bettors on the over were going to breeze to a win as LSU led 30-10 late in the third quarter. Needing just three more points to be scored, Tennessee reached the LSU 7-yard line before eventually turning it over on downs.nike_steelers_720

Jared Goff was a four-star prospect coming out of high school

Jared Goff was a four-star prospect coming out of high school, ranked No. 218 in the 247Sports Composite. Sonny Dykes saw a strong-armed player perfectly suited for his “Bear Raid” passing attack, naming Goff the first true freshman to start a season opener in school history. Goff set handfuls of school records (that he went on to break later in his career), but a 1-11 record made that first year a struggle.

Rosen, on the other hand, was as blue-chip as they come, a five-star prospect ranked as the No. 1 pro-style quarterback and No. 12 overall coming out of St. John Bosco in Bellflower, California. Like Goff, he enrolled early and was named the starter for the season opener as a freshman.

“Is that a good thing?” he asked.

“He’s a real football guy, like Tom [Brady], like Peyton [Manning], guys like that. They’re deep, deep into it.”

At this point in the fall, most NFL evaluators have finished scouting their primary schools and are now cross-checking certain positions around the country or checking out pop-up players (scouting slang for late-bloomer prospects that emerge during the fall).

With that in mind, I reached out to five executives and asked them this question: Who is the most underrated QB in college football? Here are their answers.

“I’d say Justin Herbert at Oregon. Dude can sling it and the Ducks really fell off after he went down (with an injury).”

“Rosier has stepped in for (Brad) Kaaya and the team hasn’t missed a beat. In fact, his mobility has probably improved them at the position. He shows the arm talent to develop into a next-level prospect with another year under (coach Mark) Richt.”
